HIP9022 PRELIMINARY Data Sheet October 1998 File Number 4509.1 Dual High Speed Laser Driver The HIP9022 Dual High Speed Laser Driver is designed to operate with a constant current drain from the power supply. This current defines the laser operating power. The current is accurately controlled in the range of 0.5A to 2A to deliver constant optical power from the laser when used with an external Power FET and Power Sense resistor. The operating circuit allows flexibility in choosing driver current levels. Eight S/H circuits are multiplex bus controlled to provide analog data for the dual laser drivers. The bus is updated during the blanking period of the laser printer scan with a data rate up to 2.5MHz. A “thermo-electric-cooler” control circuit provides temperature control of the laser.
