Description
The A8522 is a programmable multi-output LED driver for LCD backlighting. It integrates a current-mode boost converter with internal power switch and 8 current sinks.

- Wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 36 V
- Operates down to 3.9 V (VIN falling) for idle stop, and up to 40 V for load dump
- Integrated boost converter with DMOS switch and OVP protection up to 39 V
- 8 fully integrated LED current sinks, with individually programmable current up to 60 mA per channel
- I2C™ interface for programming LED current, PWM dimming, and various protection thresholds per channel
- Ability to drive multiple loads from a single IC
- Extensive PWM dimming (up to 10,000:1 at 100 Hz), individually programmable for each channel
