The large screen PDP (Plasma Display Panel) boasts ultra-slim dimensions, is surprisingly light in weight and delivers stunning picture quality: - a combination of features that opens up a host of new and exciting opportunities for visual presentation, especially with the current growth in digital and multimedia technologies. As the advantages of PDP’s over traditional CRT and projection-type displays become increasingly apparent, so plasma is consolidating itself as a core element in all types of presentation and public display systems. Plasma Technology: How it Works Inert gas is trapped between two glass panels, separated by a gap of just 100-200 microns wide. UV light is generated by discharging the gas using electrodes. Red, green and blue phosphors absorb these UV discharges and reTransparent Electrode Emission Wider Viewing Angle Another important characteristic of plasma, is its effective visual field angle, which is in excess of 160 degrees (both horizontally and vertically). This enables spectators, for the first time, to enjoy sharp, on-screen images from virtually any viewing point, rather than simply front-on. Accurate Display Characteristics The use of a true flat-panel screen ensures images being displayed are always perfect and distortion-free. Instant set-up with convergence-free operation assures the image quality will always be the same every time the plasma is switched on. Higher Brightness and Enhanced Picture Quality • • Enhanced drive power efficiency now realises brighter on-screen images. Pioneer's black stripe panel together with new enhanced filters, produces a high level of contrast in bright environments and improved colour fidelity. 4:3 Aspect Ratio • The PDP-V402E employs a conventional 4:3 aspect ratio which means full video and PC signals can be displayed without the need for editing - a highly convenient feature when using archive material that cannot be stretched or distorted. Compatible with A Wide Range of Input Signals • • The PDP-402E clearly displays the following signals - Composite, Y/C, RGB and VGA (640 x 480 dot). When connected to Pioneer's PDA-4003 high-performance down converter, the standard display is able to accept a wider range of PC input signals up to XGA (1024 x 768 dot). The multi-step interpolation technology used eliminates the problem of information 'drop' when displaying small characters or reproducing fine detail. This ensures that regardless of what kind of signal is sent to the plasma it will always display high quality flicker free images. Perfected Functions for Professional Applications • This plasma display is equipped with a range of features especially for professional users.
